  Phase Two
Well - it's been a longer delay than I intended, but the group has not been idle. Elizabeth has gone off to learn the pedal steel guitar and has completed her masters degree in music. She tells me she thinks she is now "the only bird in London who plays pedal steel, saxophone and bass". In her absence I have recruited George Andrew, a bass legend, originally from Aberdeen, but now resident in Esher. After several inspiring rehearsal sessions at Survival Studios in Acton, George, Drew and I checked into the Stone Room on June 21. With Gareth once again at the desk, we recorded two brand new tracks - Jammed and Time is the Simplest Thing. George and I returned on July 8 and finished off some harmony vocals before Gareth did the mixing magic. I am now getting the artwork and other things together and the new songs will be appearing on the website in the next week or so.
Meanwhile, congratulations to Gareth for his inclusion on the highly prestigious Mercury Music Prize shortlist, announced yesterday, as co-producer of Thunder, Lightning, Strike - the debut album by The Go! Team. It's an amazing record. Respect!
